YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT - JUST GET IT GOING!

One of my favorite mentors, the Great Joe Schroeder, always says, "You don't have to get it right, just get it going." No truer words have been spoken! If you hold out waiting to make the perfect video or write the most appealing ad copy, you will never get ahead.

People are looking for real people they can follow. If you have something to say, chances are there are people out there just waiting to hear you.

Don't wait for perfection, you will hone your talents as you progress and, in the meantime, you will gain followers, put up content and get it going!

People are looking for leaders they know, like and trust. Not everyone is looking for a slick, hot shot type to follow. If you come across as the real you in your writing and your videos, you will make people feel comfortable.

Shoot a video outdoors, with your children or your pets, at the beach, park - be interesting. Let people get an idea of who you are. Do you have a hobby that you love? Share it with your audience! This is attraction marketing at its best.

People will be attracted to you because of your interests and personality. After all, don't you want to work with people who click with you?

Trying too hard can often show up on video - just speak from your heart, cover information you know, and be consistent. When you learn something new or read something interesting, share it! Be interested in your business.

Do a video, write a blog, publish an ezine article all on the same subject. Use content in a variety of forms.

REMEMBER - You don't have to get it right, just get it going! Once you get it going, be consistent - do something every day, no excuses!

WHY BLOGGING IS ESSENTIAL

Most network marketing opportunities provide you with a standard, cookie-cutter web page. You have the same page as every other person marketing that particular opportunity. This is not the place you want to send your prospects.

People want to get to know the person they will work with before they sign up for an opportunity.

The best way to present yourself is to start a blog. You want to be yourself, allow people to get to know, like and trust you.

Your blog posts do not have to be complicated. Just be genuine, allow people to get to know you. Discuss something you are interested in. This is not a place to push your products or opportunity.

You can provide informative posts. If you are involved in a nutrition product, you may want to post some healthy recipes or some exercise tips. If your industry is travel, you may want to discuss your recent vacation.

Be creative, allow people to become interested in you before they even ask about your opportunity.

Blogging is really easy. You can get started for free using Blogger.com. There are also other programs that provide hosting for a fee.

By searching YouTube and the web, you can locate many informative videos on how to set up a blog.

You don't have to get it perfect, just get it going. Start with a simple blog, you can continue to tweak it as you go on, but just start putting up content and send people to your blog.

Get on Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube, My Space, LinkedIn, and start sending people to your blog page. From there, they will be come interested in you and follow you.

You can include photos and videos on your blog page. This will also help people to feel like they know you before you ever speak with each other.

This is a great way to introduce yourself to the world!

IS YOUR BUSINESS READY FOR A NEW DECADE?

August is always a bittersweet time for me. I love summer and the ease of my schedule - no school, homework, sports, hectic schedules.

It is also a time of excitement and renewed energy. The beginning of a new season, the final quarter of the year, and (this year) the final quarter of the decade!

You can prepare to start the new decade on a positive note - don't wait for New Year's Day to make your resolutions. Start today, do something new right now.

One or two small changes to your day can become a "habit" by the end of 2009.

Now, what good habits can you add to your day? How can you increase your prosperity in the next three months? Remember, these can be small changes:

1. Start saving your pocket change. When shopping, don't give exact change. Save the coins and, at the end of each day, put the change in a jar. It adds up and is a small "forced" savings plan. If you manage your small money, it will prepare you to manage larger funds as they come in!

2. In your networking business, vow to do at least one or two of the following each day:

a. Make a video and upload it to youtube, Viddler, your blog, and any other social sites you frequent;

b. Make a blog post

c. Send an daily inspirational note to your down line/team members

d. Start writing and posting articles to ezinearticles.com

e. Socialize with other networkers on Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter. Don't just add new friends, keep in touch, share valuable information. You will be surprised how many like-minded people are out there - get to know them.

3. Give, give, give. Stop looking at each new opt-in with $$$ in your eyes. Ask, what can I give to this prospect that has value? Then give. Send a short message, share an interesting site, give them a "sample" of who you are and what YOU are about, not what your product or opportunity is about.

4. People join with those they feel they know - let people get to know you. Keep posting on your blog, add photos and personal stories along with informational posts.
